The rest of the ranch is home to a wide variety of wildlife including deer, black bear, migrating elk, coyote. A host of smaller animals are attracted to the lush habitat as well, especially wild turkeys.
The game preserve has been hunted with the philosophy of "big-game catch and release."
A dart rifle has been perfected and used for limited hunting where the animal is downed, picture taken, antlers removed and the animal walks away able to grow a more impressive set of antlers the next season.
