Kiowa Ranch sits at 6,500' elevation about an hour's drive east of the oustkirts of Denver. The terrain is rolling grasslands with some gulches, ravines and rock outcroppings. Grasses on the ranch are Native Prairie, Buffalo, Grama and Brome and there is a large grove of Ponderosa and Austrian pines.

Area:
Formerly used as summer hunting grounds for the Kiowa Indians, the town of Kiowa was settled in 1859 as a stage stop on the way to Denver. Today, Kiowa has a population of 618 and is in the second fastest growing county in the state - Elbert County - and the fifth in the nation.

Improvements on the ranch include two wind mill water well, 4 stock tanks, corrals, an old barn and a storage shed. Electricity is in place on the ranch provided by Mountain View Electric.
