Recreation and Wildlife:
Fly Fishing: The property is within easy walking distance to the Gallatin River. With its beginnings in Yellowstone Park and its termination at Three Forks, where it helps form the Missouri River, the Gallatin flows through some of the most beautiful, varied country in Montana. And throughout its length, the river provides excellent trout habit. Population estimates place the number of rainbow trout in the upper river, from Yellowstone Park downstream to Spanish Creek, at about 3,000 a mile. From Spanish Creek downstream to its confluence with the Missouri, the Gallatin offers a mix of browns and rainbows, with total numbers approaching 3,000 a mile.
Those who seek larger trout should test the lower section, which runs through agricultural land in a broad valley. Pick any bridge crossing on the lower river and walk up or downstream from there within the high watermark. The lower river is characterized by broad runs and some deep pools. Braided channels offer some fast riffles. All types of dry flies and nymphs will take fish here.
Streamers draw strikes in the spring and fall when rainbow and brown trout, respectively, spawn. The lower river provides fairly easy wading as well as good opportunities for young flyfishers, although it does broaden out a bit. Forty-foot casts may be required in some situations. On any given cast, a 20-inch plus rainbow or brown could be hooked.
Hunting and Other Recreation: Noble Meadows is located in Montana's Region 3 which is widely considered to be one of Montana’s best places to hunt all of Montana’s big game, but especially the mountain species. This is the best elk region in Montana, yielding both the greatest number of animals each season and the highest hunter success rates. Mule deer hunting is also good with big bucks hiding out in undisturbed ranchland and high wilderness mountains. Whitetails are consistent in valley riparian habitat with the best hunting opportunities on private property.
Bozeman is surrounded by four mountain ranges, thousands of acres of the Gallatin National Forest and hundreds of miles of blue ribbon trout streams, so the recreation opportunities are virtually endless. Hiking, biking, fly fishing, and rafting. Bozeman is an important winter recreation area with two major ski areas nearby. Bridger Bowl is located 16 miles northeast of town and Big Sky Ski and Summer Resort is 45 miles south of Bozeman.
The international airport at Gallatin Field is located approximately 12 miles north of the property and is the main airport for the area.
