Contact Richard Peterson
A third generation Wyoming rancher, Richard Peterson gained valuable knowledge and experience in all aspects of ranch operations. As a business professional, with involvement in large landholding transactions that require his thorough knowledge and experience in mineral claim ownership and transfers combined with over three decades of experience in all aspects of ranch and recreational real estate ventures, he is a valuable asset to Ranch Marketing Associates and its clients.
Growing up on his family’s working ranch on Horseshoe Creek in Wyoming, Richard gained enormous respect for the land and he acquired a thorough education in all aspects of ranch ownership and operations. An authentic cowboy, he spent his first twenty years riding horses, mending fences, farming, putting up hay, winter feeding, trailing cattle, calving, preparing livestock for market with some occasional leisure time spent hunting and fishing.
Richard’s business and real estate accomplishments are extensive and include titles such as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of a publicly traded oil and gas company from 1982-1990. In 1990, he was instrumental in the sale of one of the largest privately held mining claim holdings in the Cripple Creek Mining District of Colorado. In 1977, Richard assisted in the sale of $8 million worth of mining claims in Converse County, Wyoming and he brings over 25 years of experience acquiring and selling federal, state, and privately held oil and gas minerals and leases in California, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North and South Dakota, Utah, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Kansas.
