To say she’s been in the trenches is an understatement. After buying, rehabilitating, and selling more than 40 properties from California to Colorado, Ann Abernethy understands, first-hand, the emotions, challenges and excitement that people experience when buying and selling property.
Ann’s design eye has led her to re-imagine residential, commercial properties, and ranch developments both large and small from Los Angeles, Montecito, and the Santa Ynez Valley. Her transaction-rich background makes her no stranger to risk, which uniquely equips her to empathize with both buyers and sellers through the highs and lows that can accompany real estate transactions.
Ann started her career as a broadcaster on live television, and has continued her passion for advertising and media throughout the evolution of advanced marketing and communication techniques, including all digital and social media platforms, targeting, and electronic messaging. Ann believes that even though we now have multiple channels and options for marketing, promoting a property is still all about telling the story, creating emotion, and capturing the imagination of the viewer.
Married, with two grown children, Ann is an outdoor lover and avid hiker. After a successful television career in New York City, L.A. and other markets, Ann employed her on-air skills in the hosting and auctioneer capacity for numerous non-profit events throughout Santa Barbara.
Ann and her husband share their time in Santa Barbara and Aspen, Colorado. The natural beauty of both California, and the Rocky Mountains, continue to inspire her interest in real estate. Ann is a connector and the host of “Women & Wine,” a quarterly networking forum for outstanding Aspen women. See video >
“Working with Ann on finding your dream property/home is like working with that person in your life who knows exactly what you want! She found our dream home when nobody else saw it for us. She has such a vast amount of experience, it helps with not only the purchase, but the whole picture of turning your dreams in to reality. I wish I was buying something today so I could work with Ann again…it’s a homerun!”

“Ann is a wizard of sorts. She has the uncanny ability to take plain, weird or even disastrous properties and turn them into hip, beautiful, functional spaces that would make even Pintrest cry. She sees the potential in properties nobody else sees. That results in value as a buyer.
She has a particular talent for color and tone, as it relates to emotion. This creates an air of calm in your space. Not to mention her brain for function. Each inch is thought through with practical every-day living in mind. The most amazing part is, she does this with a budget in mind. She is able to find unique and wonderful things that do not have to break the bank.
I would simply be lost without her. Her properties are fantastic and the photos tell it all! I love my home, mostly because of Ann’s incredible eye and generous spirit. She is always willing to help and a joy to work with! You are nuts if you don’t call this amazing and kind lady–right now!”
