Historic Guest Ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming
Founded in 1923, this historic Wyoming guest ranch is a gateway to the Big Horn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness Area offering western vacation experiences in fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding and pack trips. Visitors enjoy pristine views of the Big Horn Mountains, alpine lakes, mountain pastures and wildlife including eagles, hawks, deer and moose. The guest ranch is less than three miles from the Bighorn Wilderness with a spike camp near Cloud Peak, approximately six hours via trial/horseback. Improvements include a lodge and 11 cabins.
Spear-O-Wigwam is situated at 8,300′ in the Bighorn National Forest southwest of Sheridan on a 17-acre U.S. Forest Service permit (zero deeded land) along with a grazing permit for horses. The ranch has operated on a forest service permit for 89+/- years. New buyer/operators must apply and be approved for a 20-year permit from the Forest Service.
